Dumont, N. (2000) Prevalence of yellow starthistle (Centaurea solstitialis) near a fire road at Jasper Ridge. Independent project paper for Bio 138 (Ecology and Evolution of Plants), Department of Biological Sciences, Stanford University

Year Published: 2000
Abstract:

This study examined yellow starthistle (Centaurea solstitialis) asking the question: Is there a significant difference in the prevalence of yellow starthistle alongside a fire road vs. 10 meters away from the fire road? The results did not show significant differences in yellow star thistle density or height. Further research on the ecology of yellow starthistle and its invasion of California grasslands is recommended.
