Kusunose, Y. (2000) The effect of trail use frequency on the gradient of grassland community species' abundance. Independent project paper for Bio 138 (Ecology and Evolution of Plants), Department of Biological Sciences, Stanford University

Abstract:

In this study, we looked for a gradient of disturbance resulting from trail traffic by examining changes in the community composition against trail use frequency in a serpentine grassland community in Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve. We hypothesized that the gradient would be steeper along trails of higher usage. Our results support this hypothesis.
