Bringing Classes to Jasper Ridge
We host classes from Stanford, local colleges and universities, local high schools, and student summer programs at Jasper Ridge. A typical visit involves educational walking tours in small groups with our trained docents for 1.0 - 2.5 miles. These guided hikes touch on the ecology, vegetation communities, natural history, geology, and research projects of the preserve, among other topics. Please plan on 1.5 - 2.0 hours on site for your visit. All guests must be age 14 or older.
We can adapt content to broad themes that align with your class curriculum. We also have 30-minute educational programs we can provide at the field station on special topics, as time and staff capacity permit. Please complete a class request form and the Associate Director of Environmental Education will reach out to you to discuss options. We appreciate at least 6 weeks lead time on all requests.
