West coast premiere of environmental documentary featuring JRBP directors
“Demain (Tomorrow)” (Demain trailer), an award-winning, uplifting documentary about solutions to the world’s environmental problems, was shown in Palo Alto on Sept 30, one of its first screenings in the US.
The film was inspired by a scientific study led by JRBP Faculty Director Liz Hadly and Executive Director Tony Barnosky, who are featured in the film and led a discussion following the screening. Produced by and starring acclaimed French cinema stars Mélanie Laurent and Cyril Dion, the film won a César for best documentary of 2016 and has received standing ovations in countries throughout Europe, Asia, and Latin America, including at its premiere in Paris during the COP21 climate meetings and at the United Nations in New York. The Palo Alto screening sold out so quickly the sponsors promised another in mid-October and one on November 4th in San Francisco.
